🪙 Tip Coin — Terms of Service

Effective date: July 24, 2026. Tip Coin is a pay-it-forward game operated by Hot Deck ("we," "us"). By scanning a Tip Coin, texting our service, or using this site, you agree to these terms.

1. The Game

Tip Coin is a social game built around physical, serialized coins. Scanning a coin's QR code and sending the first text message lets you claim temporary custody of that coin, view its journal (its history of tips, hands, and time in circulation), and optionally log a gratuity you received. Custody transfers to the next person who scans the coin. The game is for entertainment; logged amounts are self-reported by players and are not payments, deposits, or stored value.

2. SMS Program Terms

Conversations are consumer-initiated: our automated service only replies to messages you send first. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your participation. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of all messages. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

3. No Money Transmission

Tip Coin does not hold, transmit, or settle funds between players. Any actual gratuity you give or receive happens outside our service, directly between you and the other person. Tip amounts logged in a coin's journal are voluntary self-reports for game purposes only.

4. Acceptable Use

Don't use the service to harass, spam, defraud, or send unlawful content; don't misrepresent tips or tamper with coins or codes. We may retire coins, remove journal entries, or suspend participation to protect the game or comply with law.

5. Coins

Physical coins are game pieces. Purchase of a coin grants participation in the game, not any monetary value, security, or redemption right. Collector editions are collectibles only.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the game.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version will always be at this page. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
